Offline Committee
DISEC addresses international security threats through disarmament and arms regulation. Delegates engage in dialogue over nuclear weapons, cyber warfare, and global military tensions.
Artificial intelligence has transformed modern warfare, from drones to predictive targeting systems. Delegates will assess the risks of lethal autonomous weapons (LAWs), AI-led decision-making, and their compliance with international humanitarian law. As AI capabilities outpace regulation, the line between combatants and algorithms is blurring. Nations face the dual challenge of national security and ethical responsibility. Should states ban “killer robots” or establish arms control protocols? The debate also includes cybersecurity, non-state actor access to AI, and tech transfers. Powerful nations may resist restrictions, citing strategic parity. Delegates must consider a future where machines can make life-or-death decisions on the battlefield.
