Agenda: Strategic Defence Coordination in Response to Hybrid Warfare Threats from Hostile State and Non-State Actors

NATO is an intergovernmental military alliance that ensures the collective defense of its members. Delegates deliberate on regional and global security issues, military cooperation, and strategic defense policies.

Hybrid warfare blends conventional attacks with cyber, misinformation, and economic sabotage. NATO delegates must coordinate responses to increasingly sophisticated hybrid threats from state actors like Russia and non-state groups. The committee will simulate scenarios involving Baltic state destabilization, energy blackmail, and mass cyber-intrusions. Discussions will centre on the triggering of Article 5, collective defence strategies, and the role of emerging technologies. Delegates must also address burden-sharing, public trust, and member cohesion. Geopolitical rifts within NATO may complicate unified responses. The line between peace and conflict has never been more blurred. Coordinated action is crucial to safeguarding transatlantic stability.
