Agenda: Empowering Women in Post-Conflict Peacebuilding and Transitional Justice

Women are disproportionately affected by conflict but often excluded from peace processes. This agenda emphasizes their vital role in rebuilding institutions, promoting reconciliation, and ensuring sustainable peace. Delegates will assess ways to mainstream gender perspectives in disarmament, justice mechanisms, and democratic reconstruction. Success stories from Liberia, Colombia, and Rwanda will be evaluated alongside ongoing challenges in Afghanistan, Sudan, and Syria. Proposals may include gender quotas, funding for survivor-led initiatives, and legal reforms ensuring protection and participation. Delegates must confront entrenched patriarchy and institutional bias. True post-conflict recovery cannot occur without inclusive governance. Women must not just be protected — they must lead. .
